Where is your company based?

Our company is based & registered in Indonesia.
   
Q :
How long has the Stuart Membery brand been in business?
A :
We started trading in Australia in 1982. In 2012 we celebrate 30 years in business.

How long have you been manufacturing furniture?
A :
We started the Furniture & Home Collection Division in Indonesia in 2005.

What Countries do you ship to?
A :
We can ship just about anywhere.
   
BUYING PROCESS.
     
Q :
Can I purchase STUART MEMBERY products directly at 'ex factory' prices?
A :
Yes you can, as long as there is not an appointed Stuart Membery Furniture & Home Collection distributor in your area or territory.
   
Q :
How do I buy your products?
A :
The buying process is simple. The website shows our current catalogue of items. Add the product(s) of interest (quantity & color) to the enquiry basket and submit the form.

Within 24-48 hours, a sales coordinator will contact you with a price quotation and any other special price requirements like shipping.
     
Q : Do you have minimums?
A :
Items have different factory minimums albeit very low. If the item is currently being produced, we can tie smaller orders onto larger ones to meet factory minimums. Otherwise orders that do not meet the factory minimums will attract 33% loading.

Can I buy 1 item?
A :
Yes, if the item is currently available in stock. Please refer to 'Stock Available' in the products section on our website.
   
Q :
What is the manufacturing lead-time?
A :
We generally quote around 12 - 16 weeks to manufacture.

How much do I have to pay & when?
A :
On the confirmation of your order we will issue our invoice. 50% Deposit is required before the manufacturing process can begin and the final balance to be paid prior to release of the goods to the shipping company.

How do I make payment?
A :
Wire transfer to our Indonesian Bank Account.
   
Q :
In what currency can I make the payment?
A :
The bank transfer can be made in the currency of your choice but will be converted to the equivalent USD value of the order. Cost of the conversion and the transfer are the responsibility of the sender.

What happens if I am not happy with the product I receive?
A :
We only ship product that meets acceptable quality standards. We will take every possible step to make sure that the quality of the product is acceptable prior to shipping.

However, in the event that you are dissatisfied with the product and have a genuine issue we will work directly with you to resolve the problem. It is not in our interest to have dissatisfied customers.

How do we ship the goods?
A :
We are not a shipping company. 'Ex Factory' allow customers to use their own established shipping companies.

I have not shipped product from Asia before - Can you help?
A :
If you do not have a shipping company we can recommend our preferred shipping company in Indonesia. We have built a solid relationship with them. We will liaise with our prefered shipping company on your behalf.

What do I need to do?
A :
The process is simple. The shipping company can offer a service to your requested port or address and will arrange export paper-work, insurance, fumigation, packing & tracking. You will be responsible for the cost of importation of the product into your own country.

How are products shipped?
A :
Sea freight is the most common method in 20 ft / 40 ft / 40 ft High Cube Containers
   
Q :
How many items can I fit in a container?
A :
Container loads are measured in square cubic meters.
You will find the square cubic measurement of each item listed on the product information page on our website.
20 ft container holds 25-30 cubic meters (approx 25–30 assorted items).
40 ft Container holds 50-60 cubic meters (approx 45-55 assorted items).
40 ft High Cube Container holds 65-70 cubic meters (approx  60-70 assorted items).

Do I need to buy and entire container load?
A :
No. We can also ship LCL (Less than Container Load).
   
Q :
What about the import duty and local taxes?
A :
Import duty & taxes are the responsibly of the customer.
   
Q :
How long does the shipping take to arrive at my Port?
A :
Shipping time will depend on the destination. It can take 4 weeks to get to Australia or Europe & 8 weeks to Brazil.
